Setting up a Sticky Ardy Knight

The Ardy Knight is an NPC that is used to train the thieving skill in OSRS (Old School RuneScape).  Players will lure this NPC with a splashing account as a way to keep the NPC from moving around, allowing the player to keep the cursor stationary and maximize the amount of experience gained per hour.

The Sticky Knight is an NPC with a specific set of properties that makes keeping the NPC stationary easier, hence the name "Sticky Knight."

Locating the Sticky Knight

There are two Sticky Knights located in the city of Ardougne.  They are the Knights that have the female character model and for the purpose of this article we will be focusing on just one of the Sticky Knights.

This Knight can be located in the eastern area of the Ardougne market square.  Reference the image below for an approximate location of where you might find this NPC (marked by the red border):

Luring the Sticky Knight

A popular place players choose to pickpocket Knights is inside of the southernmost bank in Ardougne.  This location is popular because of its lack of random events, which ultimately will lead to a higher experience gain per hour.

In order to lure the Knight, you will need to be set up with two accounts.  If you only have one account, don't worry, you can employ the help of someone with the proper equipment to help out with the lure.

Overview

As you can see from the video above, you want to get the Knight in the red tile.  Luring the Knight to the red tile can be kind of tricky, but luckily, we can use the mechanics of the Knight to help bring it to the correct tile.  In order to do that we are stepping underneath the Knight because as its engaged in a combat state, it will attempt to move to another tile to attack your character.

Knight tile

The red tiles are also the bounds of which the Knight can travel without the use of other mechanics.

The first account brings the Knight to the red tile, while the second account waits for the Knight to be lured past its boundaries.  The first account will cast the Entangle spell to hold the knight in place for 15 seconds, then directly after use the Dragon Spear special attack to push the Knight past its programmed boundaries.

Make sure to follow behind the Knight by one tile because it ensures that the Knight has a better chance of staying on its current tile.

If two players are standing in the way of the Knight it shouldn't be able to move around (as its now past its boundaries and is programmed to return inside of the boundaries).  The caveat to this is that if another player runs through the same tile your character is on, it will break the effect that it has on the NPC.

Once the first account has used the Dragon Spear special attacks, the second account will wait for the first account to drop combat and then begin the procedure again.

The second account casts an Entangle spell, then uses the Dragon Spear special attacks to push the Knight behind the fence of the bank in East Ardougne.  Quickly after the special attacks are used, the second account can equip the splashing gear and work toward bringing the Knight into the bank to be splashed on.

Now that you are past the fence, the Knight will attempt to backtrack as you are attacking it so you need to move in the opposite direction of where you want its trajectory to be.

The goal is to get the Knight inside of the bank, and once it's there it is also back inside of its boundaries and will have the normal properties of an NPC that is in bounds (e.g. the ability to maintain a combat state).  In order for the NPC to actively engage in a combat state, the player also needs to be inside the boundaries of the NPC.
